About Me
Hello! I’d love to share a little bit about myself, my writing style, and my previous writing experience. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my journey to becoming an author.
To start, I would like to specify that all of my works are written solely by myself. I absolutely do NOT utilize A.I. in any form. I strongly believe that humans are (and have always been!) clever enough to produce incredible entertainment on their own, and that A.I. is strictly unnecessary in all aspects of the publishing industry. All illustrations will be human-made, as well, with proper credit give to the artist. I hate that this even needs to be specified, but we live in a world where the convenience of dangerous technology is overthrowing the soul of human creativity. My works may not be perfect, but they are all written, edited, designed, and illustrated by the souls of real people.
Writing History
Writing has always been a passion of mine since early childhood. Growing up, my favorite movies and TV shows had a large influence on what I wrote about. I wrote of epic adventures with my favorite characters- namely, Indiana Jones and Captain Kirk. I was writing fanfiction before I was even familiar with the term! Between the ages of twelve and thirteen, I wrote a full story of Don Diego De La Vega’s quest to subdue the corrupt Capitán Monastario’s tyrannical rule over 19th-century Los Angeles (based on Disney’s Zorro). That was the first long work I completed, and I’m still proud of it to this day!
As a teenager, I continued writing regularly. I started sharing some of my works on Wattpad; I loved the writing community and gained a couple of hundred followers. Although it wasn’t much, it furthered my desire to share my writings with the world and provided me with valuable writing experience. I still enjoyed writing a good fanfiction here and there, but my writing style began to evolve to other avenues. I loved reading high-fantasy novels, such as The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Eragon. I was drawn to these mythological worlds and started creating my own. I discovered a deep love for poetry while reading classic works by authors such as Edgar Allan Poe and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and I also began writing poetry. After having children, I developed a newfound love for children’s literature and started focusing my efforts towards writing lyrical children’s books.
Several of the authors that I admire the most are J.R.R. Tolkien, Frank Herbert, and C.S. Forester; these writers are a source of inspiration and encouragement for my own writing.
Current Writings
Adult Literature
High fantasy is my favorite genre to write in adult fiction, but I also dabble in other genres. My current project is a four-part fantasy series that I’m very excited about! I am nearly done with the first draft of book one, and I am looking forward to venture into the self-publishing world when it is completely finished.
Children’s Literature
I have written many children’s books! I love stories of magic, fantasy, and whimsy, and most of my completed works reflect that sort of “fairytale” style. In addition to fantasy, many of my stories contain virtue and life lessons while still being entertaining. I enjoy writing both rhyming and non-rhyming stories; I write stories that can be understood and enjoyed by children and adults alike. I believe it’s important for adults to enjoy the books they read to their children, and I strive to write books that will be loved and appreciated by people of all ages!
